21 Years in Real Estate — My Story

Happy Birthday to me… and to my real estate business! 🏠

April 21st is always special, but this year it means even more. While I celebrate another trip around the sun, I’m also celebrating 21 years in real estate—on the 21st!

On April 21, 2005, I asked my husband to drive me from Joliet to Springfield so I could take my real estate exam—184 miles one way - just to take the test. He looked at me and said, “Why would you want to go all the way to Springfield to take your test when you can take it the following week in Chicago?” And I said, “Baby, this would mean a lot to me—how cool would it be to get my license on my birthday… and we can visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum?”

Was I a salesperson in training or what? 😂

21 years of helping sellers get top dollar.
21 years of sharpening negotiation skills, challenges, growth, and wins.
21 years of finding the right homes for my buyers—and negotiating the best price possible.
21 years of helping investors build rental portfolios.
21 years of building relationships with clients and vendors.

From starting out with big ambition (and no clear roadmap) to building APEX Real Estate Brokerage, this journey has been anything but ordinary. It came with no weekends, no rest, no vacations—just pure, nonstop work. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m beyond grateful for every client, every referral, and every opportunity to do what I love.

Here’s to many more years of helping people build wealth through real estate, make moves, and create new chapters.
